Another day another post from your media mates! This time it is me: Yasin Erol
Tiger King (2020):
Last time, I talked about the documentary show about Michael Jordan and the Bulls back in the 90s. Today, I will review a documentary as well. This one takes place in a whole different setting.

It is about the blond guy with his fu manchu beard his shiny and glittering clothes AND! his wild animals, tigers. The guy in the picture you can see above is Joseph Allen Maldonado-Passage or better known as Joe Exotic. He owns a wildlife zoo with hundreds of tigers. Carole Baskin, an animal rights activist and the counterpart to Joe Exotic was his biggest enemy by trying to get the zoo closed and rescue the tigers who were living in there. Joe accused Carole Baskin of murdering her husband and feeding him to her big cats, and later tried to pay someone to murder her. Which is why he got sentenced for 22 years in prison.

A friend of mine recommended me this tv show by comapring it to another big documentary on Netflix "Don't F* with Cats". The main characters are similar to eachother. Two guys who are guy and want the big spotlight to be the star, but get too focused on it and in big trouble. It was quite interesting to see how his relationships worked where he had two husbands at the same time and how he got in a verbal war with Carole Baskin. Despite his cringe look, he was a sympathic crazy guy from the prairie of Oklahoma. Wars with her and other livelihood damaging experiences lead him to the choice to kill Carole Baskin which his hit man failed to do.

The documentary is structured like a classic Netflix documentary where the characters get introduced at first and then get scrutinized until they reveal what it is all about. The documentary took us to a exotic zoo with crazy characters, which i would not even imagine of that they could exist. Negatively, the documentary was more like a biography about Joe Exotic than a thrilling shocking documentary like Don't F*** with Cats" was.

It doesn't reach the level of Don't F*** in terms of exciting and catching moments but it shows nice insights to a crazy lifestyle of a few very interesting exotic characters.

These are the reasons why the show gets:
Grade: 7/10

Hope you liked it and come back for our next review!!!
